Things to do March: Charleston, South Carolina
Marching into our favorite month (it’s our birthday month)! And of course, March here in Charleston is when the city really starts to come alive, with azaleas and magnolias of course. It’s also the unofficial start to tourist season, though some of us wonder if there truly is a season since it seems to last all year. One thing is for sure, this month is for exploring and with the anticipation of warmer beach days ahead it’s a great opportunity to check out the many festivals and events that happen this time of year.
Here is our rundown of all the great 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 coming your way in the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺.
For the foodies out there, there is the annual Charleston Wine & Food Festival, which simply can’t be missed. “Charleston Wine + Food was founded in 2005 by a group of loyal community leaders with a vision of creating an event to promote + elevate Charleston’s culinary brand. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the goal was to put Charleston on the map as a culinary destination and bring national + international attention to the city through the production of a multi-day wine + food festival. Charleston Wine + Food infuses homegrown flavor with top chefs, winemakers, authors, storytellers, artisans, experts, and food enthusiasts from around the globe for a five-day event that spans the first full weekend each March.” This event offers gastronomy experiences such as tastings, wine pairings, cooking classes, and more. And the Culinary village that takes place at Riverfront Park in North Charleston includes: Food Trucks, Foodie Kitchens, Snack Shacks, A Beer Garden, A Rose Garden, A Zero Garden, An Artisan Market, a Book Nook, and even a Silent Disco. It truly gives you a sense of the diverse food scene that we get to partake in daily here locally.

And of course there is one of our favorite sports events, the Annual Charleston Tennis Open at Credit One Stadium on Daniel Island. It’s where the “world’s best athletes compete in a world-class destination. And the coastal backdrop provides the perfect environment for backhands, dropshots and roars from the crowd.”
As March unfolds its charm, we can’t wait to take in all our lovely city has to offer. So, get ready for a good time of celebration and unforgettable moments.
