Meet Kelly Stradling

An Indiana native, Kelly Stradling was first drawn to the Lowcountry when she attended the College of Charleston in 2000. The beauty of the area and the diverse culture made it easy for her to develop a deep love for the Holy City. With family on Seabrook Island, she was afforded the opportunity to get to know the area intimately. In 2019, Kelly decided to invest in a beach property of her own on the island — soon after, she decided to call Charleston home, and share her love of real estate as a registered agent with Smith Spencer Real Estate.

Through Kelly’s entrepreneurial pursuits, she brings over two decades in sales and marketing, construction/renovation, and real estate investment. She has owned diverse businesses, including a yoga studio, retail boutique, and construction/renovation company. Her love of real estate comes quite naturally, as she grew up in a family business of land development, real estate, and interior design. This upbringing, coupled with her specific experience, affords her the ability to know the ins and outs of real estate first-hand, whether purchasing a forever home, beach getaway, or investment property.

She is also very knowledgeable of the greater Charleston area, including Johns Island, James Island, Downtown Peninsula, Mt. Pleasant, Isle of Palms, and Sullivan’s Island. In her free time, Kelly enjoys kayaking the gorgeous waters around Charleston, hiking on expeditions to some of the world’s top spots, enjoying live music, and traveling both near and far.

Philosophy

Kelly has always been drawn to the beauty of spaces and places, and through her extensive travels of the world she has seen firsthand how elements can captivate and inspire. It is through this love of the aesthetic that Kelly seeks to draw upon in her design process. Aiming to both woo and ground the audience her spaces contain simplicity and excitement, and one can she the many influences of her diverse background and experiences emerge.

And at the same time, Kelly seeks to maximize her client’s investments, and knows that in order to both find potential in properties and increase property value, that can only be accomplished through the diligent research and understanding of metrics and data in the real estate process. She knows that investing in a property can be both emotional and rational and when to apply each to achieve her client’s long-term goals.
