One of our favorite things about living in the Holy City (named as such because no building is higher than the highest church steeple), is the rich history that is on display through its architecture. These marvel that grace the streets are a living testament of the storied and at times enduring past, and seem to tell a story all of their own. You’ll notice Charleston single and double homes, Georgian townhomes, Antebellum style mansions, and of course the famous row homes of Rainbow Row, and be beckoned back to a time long ago. And of course there are all of the courtyards, wrought-iron gates that provide entrance into intimate parks, gas lanterns, and cobblestone streets all of which create a certain allure to the peninsula.

Of course are other top reason for calling Charleston home, is the wide array of things to do. Truly a gastronomy haven, that boasts a culinary scene that rivals many large cities, we can’t get enough of the incredible selection of dining options that offer cuisines from around the world from some of the best world-class chefs. One can find everything from intimate cafes, to outdoor bbq pits, to fine dining, and of course we can’t get enough of some of the city’s signature dishes including: shrimp and grits, coconut cake, praline pecans, she crab bisque, fried okra, and the freshest seafood straight off the boat.

In addition, the walkability of downtown affords residents and tourists alike the ability to enjoy a rich and diverse culture. There are many historic points of interest, theaters, boutiques, art galleries, breweries, and much much more to explore. And life here always seem to offer a special local event, festival, or farmer’s market that fosters a sense of community. Also, check out some of the world famous festivals like Spoleto and Charleston Wine & Food Festival that simply can’t be missed and which happen each year.
