Spring Bucket List Charleston South Carolina

We couldn’t be more excited to welcome spring in our favorite city of Charleston, SC. And with that being said, we are looking forward to a host of things to come when the azaleas and magnolias put on a full show. It seems our historic city is always buzzing with excitement with a calendar full of festivals, events, and one of a kind experiences that you can only have in the low country. Spoleto Festival

An annual highlight for us has always been the world-amount Spoleto Festival, and this year Charleston’s stages will welcome it for the 48th year. This is truly a cultural arts experience that offers many performances to choose from including: theater, music, dance, and opera. It’s an absolute must attend event for anyone here locally and from afar.

Charleston Wine & Food Festival

For the foodies out there, there is the annual Charleston Wine & Food Festival, which simply can’t be missed. This event offers gastronomy experiences such as tastings, wine pairings, cooking classes, and more. It truly gives you a sense of the diverse food scene that we get to partake in daily here locally. Also, mark your calendars this fall, this will be the first year that the Food & Wine Classic comes to Charleston by way of Aspen, and we’re eager to check it out.

Music

Music lovers also won’t be disappointed as this time of year brings many well-known artists to town including: The Postal Service, Death Cab for Cute, Bryan Adams, Travis Tritt, and Greta Van Fleet. Also, High Water Fest takes place 4/20-21, and headlining this year is Hozier which will take place at Riverfront Park in North Charleston. Other artists include: Noah Kahn, Fleet Foxes, the Flaming Lips, The Wallflowers, and Grace Potter. Then it’s onto High Tide Festival which is happening June 1st and an event where it pays to dress to impress, since they believe “there is no better way to express yourself than through what you wear.” There will also be craft cocktails many food options to keep you fueled and hydrated, and “High Tide’s health and wellness component is designed to keep attendees feeling balanced and renewed. From the sun-kissed lineup, made up of some of the biggest names in electronic music, to the high-profile brand partners, and in-festival experiences, High Tide is about who you're with, what you wear, and making the kind of memories that will last a lifetime.” We can’t wait to see you there Charleston!

Charleston Open

The Annual Charleston Tennis Open at Credit One Stadium on Daniel Island is one of our favorite sports events. It’s where the world’s best athletes compete in a world-class destination. And the coastal backdrop provides the perfect environment for backhands, dropshots and roars from the crowd.” This year’s event takes place 3/30-4/7, so be sure to snag your tickets soon!

Cooper River Bridge Run

Perhaps one of the most scenic bridge runs in the country, each April people race over the Cooper River. The Cooper River bridge run, or just the bridge run if you’re from around here is the “best organized and best conducted 10-K race in the world. It includes world-class competition in a unique setting with unparalleled participant satisfaction. It broadens community cooperation and participation in healthy events throughout the year. The Cooper River Bridge Run serves as a model of health motivation for other communities throughout the world.” Here’s also a few incredible facts:

  • 3rd Largest 10K in US @ 40,000 participants

  • Participants cross 2.5 miles of bridge at a 4.8% grade

  • Average participant age is 33

  • The direct economic impact in Charleston is 35 million dollars
