April in Charleston and the weather is perfect for the beach.. well at least most of the time when we donโt have rain and cold days. But this is when the city starts to starts to come alive, with tourists and beach goers of course. With tourist season in full swing itโs the perfect time for those of us locals (p.s. there arenโt many) to get away. No matter what, there are a ton of awesome events to check out as the month comes into full swing.

Cooper River Bridge Run
Perhaps one of the most scenic bridge runs in the country, each April people race over the Cooper River. The Cooper River bridge run, or just the bridge run if youโre from around here is the โbest organized and best conducted 10-K race in the world. It includes world-class competition in a unique setting with unparalleled participant satisfaction. It broadens community cooperation and participation in healthy events throughout the year. The Cooper River Bridge Run serves as a model of health motivation for other communities throughout the world.โ Hereโs also a few incredible facts:
3rd Largest 10K in US @ 40,000 participants
Participants cross 2.5 miles of bridge at a 4.8% grade

Music lovers also wonโt be disappointed as this month brings many well-known artists to town including the one and only High Water Fest which takes place 4/20-21, and headlining this year is Hozier. The event will will take place at Riverfront Park in North Charleston. Also check out:
