General Tips for a Great Beach Day with Your Dog

  • Hydration: Bring plenty of fresh water for your dog to drink, as the saltwater can be dehydrating and harmful if ingested in large quantities.

  • Shade: Provide shade to protect your pet from the sun, and avoid peak heat hours to prevent overheating.

  • First Aid: Carry a basic first aid kit for your dog, including items like antiseptic wipes and bandages.

  • Respect Wildlife: Be mindful of nesting birds and other wildlife, especially during nesting seasons.

We love Charleston’s beaches, and by following the local rules and being considerate of others, you and your furry friend can enjoy many happy hours exploring the beautiful coastline together.
